Glass Sellers Charity supports Lord Mayor’s Grand Finale Silent Auction

Peter Layton, Turquoise Paradiso Stoneform

A piece of glass donated by the Worshipful Company of Glass Sellers Charity to the Lord Mayor’s Grand Finale Silent Auction on 7 November 2017 raised an amazing £1200 for the Lord Mayor’s Appeal.

Fiona Adler, Deputy Chairman Lord Mayor’s Appeal 2016-2017 said “We raised over £ 200,000 to help support the essential work of Andrew’s Lord Mayor’s Appeal beneficiary charities: the London Symphony Orchestra’s Discovery Programme, St Paul’s Cathedral Music Outreach and Music in Hospitals. Your auction lot raised £1,200 and we are delighted!”

The stunning piece of glass “Turquoise Paradiso Stoneform” was by Hon Liveryman Peter Layton. The Series, Turquoise Paradiso, strikes the perfect balance between hot and cold. A combination of opaque and transparent turquoise provides the canvas for this series and adds an almost glacial backdrop to the pattern. The temperature is then lifted with lively cords of peach, orange, and scarlet.
