London, 27th September 2026 — On a brilliant, sun-drenched Sunday afternoon, the heart of London played host to one of the City’s most colourful and historic traditions. Representing our vibrant community, the Master and Mistress Glass Seller, accompanied by fellow members of the Worshipful Company of Glass Sellers, stepped out into the crisp autumn sunshine to participate in the iconic Annual Sheep Drive across Southwark Bridge.
Organised by the Worshipful Company of Woolmen, this ancient right—once a practical necessity for bringing livestock to market—is now firmly established as a beloved highlight of the Livery Calendar.
Hundreds of Liverymen, freemen, and guests gathered against the stunning backdrop of the River Thames to experience the rare privilege of driving sheep across a London bridge. Bathed in perfect late-September sunshine, Southwark Bridge buzzed with excitement, traditional pageantry, and community spirit.
Beyond the spectacle and fun, the day serves a vital purpose, raising generous funds for the Woolman’s Charity Fund, which supports agricultural initiatives, educational bursaries, and charitable causes across the UK.

Our Master and Mistress Glass Seller led our company delegation with great enthusiasm, donning cheerful smiles as the woolly participants trotted merrily across the tarmac. It was a fantastic opportunity to catch up with fellow Livery companies, celebrate London’s enduring heritage, and showcase the camaraderie that defines our Company.
