Welcome to Great Science Share for Schools 2025 at The University of Manchester

In its tenth year, we are delighted to welcome primary and secondary pupils to the Nancy Rothwell Building at The University of Manchester. There are questions being posed all around us every day and today is a prime occasion for pupils to share their scientific questions and investigations with each other. Scientific and technological advancements are fast moving, and it is important that we stop for a moment out of our busy schedules and listen – listen carefully – listen with interest – listen to the next generation of scientists and engineers as part of Great Science Share for Schools 2025!

Pioneered in Manchester – Making a Difference Worldwide

Great Science Share for Schools is making a difference locally, nationally, and internationally. Its success relies on its inclusive and non-competitive values and its collaborative strategic approach that builds alliances and collaborations across the STEM education sector and industry partners.

This award-winning annual campaign has grown at an accelerated rate, inspiring 5–14-year-olds to get into science and engineering, as well as fulfilling the University’s strategy to address patterns of underrepresentation in higher education and to reduce boundaries to STEM learning for all.

This year, for the 2nd year in a row, Great Science Share for Schools was granted the prestigious patronage of the United Kingdom National Commission for UNESCO. This recognition serves as a hallmark of quality, signifying the campaign’s contributions in advancing UNESCO’s mission in promoting education, scientific research and cultural understanding. GSSfS has been acknowledged by the UKNC for its exceptional contributions to these crucial areas, affirming its pivotal role in shaping the next generation of scientists, innovators, and global citizens.
Enjoy every minute that today brings and be ready to save the date for our 10th Great Science Share for Schools event, on campus at The University of Manchester on 16th June 2026!
